KNOW YOUR CHURCH, KNOW THE GOD WE SERVE

CATEGORY OF CLASSIFICATION

This church falls under the category of the classification of Protestantism whose study all Ministers should be knowledgeable of. Here is where the shadows and emblems are not the real thing, but  indicators of the real thing. Justification is always by faith and only by faith.

POSITION OF PRACTICE

THE CWC’s position of practice is that of Pentecostalism, a stream in Protestantism. This is the Christian practice which emphasizes direct personal experience of God through the baptism with the Holy Spirit. A study on the Holy Spirit and the baptism with the Holy Spirit is a prerequisite with every Minister of the church.

OUR CREED OF OBSERVANT, THE APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty

Creator of heaven and earth,

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

Born of the virgin Mary,

Suffered under Pontius Pilate,

Was crucified, died, and buried,

He descended into hell,

On the third day He rose again from the dead,

He ascended into heaven,

And is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The Holy Catholic Church,

The communion of the saints,

The forgiveness of sins,

The resurrection of the body,

And life everlasting,

Amen.

THE STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe in one God eternal, Almighty Creator, Sustainer and Ruler of all creation as existing with two persons of the Son and the Holy Spirit.

2. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God written by holy men of God as the Holy Spirit inspired them. We accept it as the final and Supreme authority of our lives and faith. Everything in this constitution that is not consistent with it or according to its spirit, should be dealt away with for its supremacy is also above this constitution.

3 We believe in Jesus Christ the only Son of God the Father, true God in true man who descended from heaven to be conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born by the virgin Mary.

4 We believe that man was created by God in his own image and that, due to his sin man incurred death both physically and spiritually. Because of this man inherited death at birth.

5 We believe in the death of Jesus Christ for our sins by crucifixion on Calvary, His burial, His resurrection and His ascension to heaven. We also believe that He is seated at the right hand side of the Father where He is our Intercessor and High Priest.

6 We believe that all who hear the Gospel, repent of their sins and accept Christ by faith as their personal Saviour and Lord, their sins are forgiven and they become children of God for they are born again of the Holy Spirit and are justified by faith.

7 We believe that at the time appointed of God the Father, Christ will come again to take His church and establish His kingdom on earth.

8 We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as evidenced by speaking in tongues, empowering and equipping believers for service with the accompanying gifts of the Holy Spirit and in fellowship with Him.

9 We believe in the divine ordained ministry of an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher.

10 We believe in one true church made of those redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit, that the local church on earth should take its character from this concept of the church. That the new birth and personal confession of Christ are essential for church membership.

11 We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and that the church is His body fulfilling His and the Father’s will on earth.

12 We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances, namely baptism in water and the Lord’s supper to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witness to the cardinal facts of Christian faith that: Baptism is the immersion of a believer into the water as a confession of identity with Christ in burial and resurrection, and that the Lord’s supper is the partaking of the emblems symbolic of the saviour s’ broken body and the shed blood in remembrance of His sacrificial death until He comes.

13 We believe in the Day of Judgment where Christ will judge both the living and the dead, which will be preceded by the resurrection of the just and the unjust, to eternal blessedness for the just and to eternal banishment for the unjust.

14 We believe in sanctification as taught in the scripture as a condition of seeing God. For without holiness no man can see God.

15 We believe in divine healing as provided for in the Old Testament and is an integral part of the Gospel in the New Testament.
